  7. Hello Heather,
Your are not the first to be copied by this (artist of no original ideas) she took the( ragamuffin)
name from Saturated Canary and blatantly copied a couple of her digi's, they say that copying is the highest form of flattery, its not when its your rep and business thats on the line if you get hold of Etsy, they might take down her shop and make her change the digis.
Hope all works out well for you
    Hugs Bridget :0)

    1. I remember a bit about the Saturated Canary stuff, but I had only just joined her DT (escaped asap!) and really didn't have a clue what was going on. I remember her getting hysterical and demanding we all backed her up. I hadn't even heard of Saturated Canary at that point, but now it's very obvious to me that she was copying the style very closely.

As for being on the DT...pointless. I was one of many and now there are many, many more. It's a crazy amount of people. It's not a team at all. No one knows anyone else. No one actually is of value...it's just numbers in case they get into bother and need to call them in for support.

And the challenges! We were literally ordered to enter the challenges even though we were DT members! No one else entered! I won it twice and didn't receive my prizes. I mailed Sherri and was ignored...as usual. I didn't bother forcing the issue as I felt so wrong about being in the challenge anyway! Absolutely pointless and now she's going through our challenge entries, 'following' most of them and contacting a lot as well. No scruples at all.

And the threatening comments that get sent! I've kept mine. They'll be used if needed.

I only stayed in the DT a very short while and only stayed that long because of Heather. I actually feel sick to the stomach that I was even remotely involved with that set up.
      xx

    3. To keep this short Laurian...yep, yep and yep! Heather's work is incredible and anything else is a very poor copy. When I was on that DT I picked very few of the other artist's digis (had to choose some) because they were totally inferior. That's a fact...they felt wrong.

And there is Stamp Out who can are working towards cutting out this sort of thing.

      Thank you for the support.

  9. I am so very sorry to hear that your going through this mess. It is unforgivable. I did purchase some of your digis from this person then read about the trouble you were having. I felt so bad I really didn't know what to do. I hate to say this but when I saw the copies I was starting to think you and her were the same person because of the copies. I apologize for the mistake I made. Hang in there, my prayers are with you.

  10. It's not your fault at all Carol...so many people are being sucked in innocently. The sad thing is that people buying Heather's digis from elsewhere are doing so illegally too, which is making criminals out of innocent people, which is seriously wrong. It's so sad as how can people tell what they're buying? How do they know if people have the rights to sell it or not? It's unfair to the artist and to those who buy the artwork.

    Thank you for the support.

  12. Heather

I would just like to let you know that I have just deleted all these other digis from my computer. She just released a new one that she even has the audacity to add the glasses to!!! I'm sorry I was taken in - I hadn't actually got round to using one of hers - but I have used yours in the latest challenge. Chin up and protect your rights!!!

    1. Karon...it really isn't your fault. Problem is, most people are so honest and law abiding that they just don't even think of these things until they're caught up in the middle. And then it hurts the people who are most innocent, which is one of the most upsetting things in all this and which is why we've refrained from bringing this up too heavily before. We've been left with no option now. I say we as I'm 100% with Heather in this and I will support her all the way, regardless of threats and intimidation and false (and extremely pathetic) accusations.
      xx

  16. This is absolutely disgusting, I have seen other examples of the "other artist" doing this with other peoples work as well, there really ought to be more that artists can do to protect their work, as an artist myself I think it's absolutely terrible, Heather's work is a million times better than this "other artist" I have used quotation marks every time I have referred to this other person as to my mind the only type artist this person is is a con-artist any true artist would not want to copy someone else's work as art is an expression of ones self, Heather's work is wonderful and I hope she manages to get this sorted out

  19. This is disgusting and really shows how stupid this person is, the copies are nowhere near as good as the originals, I thnk that anyone who has bought the originals will know the difference in the copies, as the originals are far superior in quality, I for one will never purchase anything from this person :-) xxx

  20. This is disgusting and show how stupid this person is to think that they can copy your images and think that they are in any way similar. Yours are far superior in the overall quality and hers are very obviously 'doodles' . I couldn't call hers artwork because it isn't, I for one will never buy from her and will always purchase the originals from the lacy sunshine site :-)xxx

  21. I think it's safe to say that 'we' (all of us who know the true artwork) support you Heather and thankfully I can safely say that I've not supported, nor will I support those who steal ideas, images, artwork etc - my son is an artist too and I know the amount of work that goes into each and every image produced. Unfortunately there are those out there who feel that it is their right to copy (even though what they supply is very inferior to the original) and then sell on as 'original' - I have a few names on my personal list of those who do/have done this and I simply refuse to buy their offerings to the extent that I won't even watch the few of them who appear on TV!

Good luck with your legal battle and I look forward to purchasing the Heather Valentin true original artwork direct from Lacy Sunshine.

    Hugs Su xx

  22. GASP! I knew I had seen images similar to these, but I never bought any. When I came across Lacy Sunshine, I immediately fell in love with the images and purchased some. I wondered why I hadn't had the same reaction the first time. Now I know why. I wasn't looking at Lacy Sunshine images the first time! Sheesh! That's so outrageous! I love Krista's images as well. I'm sorry that the both of you are are having to deal with this. I am sharing my love for Lacy Sunshine images on my blog and crafty FB page. You are the real deal!

  24. That's so very sad to hear someone copying another artist's work, it's crazy that if she can draw digis why can't she make up her own characters? I know that's what I'd want to do if I had any drawing talent (sadly, I don't and am so grateful for the likes of Heather and others that gives me something to colour in lol!) Keep up the great work, I have only just found your blog and digis but already have a card to upload in a minute with this week's gorgeous freebie on it. XOX Lucy
