Enough is enough.

Those of you who know me, know that I love crafting more than anything in the world. It tears my heart out when the one thing that I find joy in gets trampled by another artist. I get excited about creating original art, but when somebody comes out with a knockoff, fabricates a copyright date, and then tries to make my original look like a copy, I am at my wits end. I have been assailed by this artist and her minions ever since I became independent of Scrapbook Stamp Society.

There comes a time when enough is enough. I am tired of being put on the defensive all the time, especially when I have done nothing to harm this other artist. I wanted to make a clean break, but she insists on playing these infantile games. I have known for some time that she went to my website, lifted some images, and removed the watermarks so that she could distribute them for free. This is out and out theft, and the authorities have informed me that I have every right to press charges. I don't like to be the bad guy, but I'm certainly tired of being victimized. All I want her to do is to leave me alone, but if she does not, I think she will come to regret her actions. So I ask my fans to stand beside me as I go through this difficult time. The joy that I derive from doing art is all due to you. Thank you so very much.

Heather

  4. I think you should file a legal suit against her. She's stealing your work, and you won't get any peace of mind until it is resolved. Talk to a lawyer. This has been stressing you out for too long. I think she's playing your bluff--that you won't go forward with a lawsuit. I say call her on it...the sooner the better.

  6. I am behind you all the way just either press charges or find a way to copyright your images so she can't get them. There has to be a way. Not a good thing for her to be doing. Stress is not good for you. I sure hope things get better and you continue to draw because it would be a great loss if you stop. Your so very talented!!!! hang in there Heather,

  8. I think that the worst thing about this is you cannot defend yourself - I suffer this from a previous husband, tried to defend myself against his lies and was told to stop being bitchy!!!
Know that you are loved and appreciated here.
DON'T GIVE IN, continue to draw.
I do not continue my visits to sites that use those digis.
    ((((hugs))))

  9. Hi Heather, I have followed you for a long time now and nothing will ever stop me. Even though I don't jump in and say anything does NOT mean that I am not thinking of all the rubbish that you are going through. Your artwork is amazing and with each and every one that you post you get stronger as a person and an artist. You shouldn't have to fight to keep what is yours, everyone knows where these beautiful images come from and it is YOU and don't you ever forget that. Brilliant, amazing, talented and a joy. Hugs, Jen xxxx

  10. Heather, she'll get hers! Remember, WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND! I know it's hard, is there a watermark you cant remove? I wonder if I can make you a digital one, she can't remove! (Let me know!) Maybe if she doesn't know the software she can't remove it! I really don't know how that works!

  11. Would it help to name her?

I had a lot of comments on my blog, re a card I did and didn't know it copied the style of another artist, it wasn't pleasant, especially as I was totally innocent. Naming would then, perhaps, help us innocent parties.
